Bank of Botswana – Banking Supervision Annual Report 2008

pula-botswana

Botswana's banking sector put in a "generally satisfactory" performance in 2008, the country's central bank said in its Banking Supervision Annual Report.

The banking system had remained "resilient, sound and stable" in aftermath of the crisis, the report noted, with continued growth in deposit liabilities and asset growth exceeding the previous year's performance. This was attributed to assets and liabilities being primarily domestic, limiting exposure to the global financial crisis.
