Kenya – Bank Supervision Annual Report 2008

2008 saw an increased uptake in the use of mobile phone technology as a means to access money in Kenya, notes the latest Bank Supervision Annual Report from the country's central bank.

The report says that a number of new products were introduced by banks that use information and communication technology, particularly mobile phone technology.

The report also states that all institutions maintained capital adequacy ratios above the minimum requirement of 12% and notes that total assets expanded
