Bank of Sierra Leone - Annual Report 2006
The Sierra Leonean economy grew by 7.8% in 2006. The growth was down to a strong mining industry, good relations with trade partners and sound economic policies, said the central bank.
The country received $61.5 m in budgetary support from the EU, the UK, the African Development Bank, and the World Bank.
The inflation, measured by a Consumer Price Index specific to Freetown, the capital city, dropped from 13.1% in December 2005 to 8.2% at the end of 2006.
