Bundesbank calls for harmonisation in CMU response

German central bank warns of excessively heavy regulation

The Deutsche Bundesbank has given a detailed response to proposals by the European Commission for capital markets union (CMU), expressing concerns over some of the mooted reform projects.

The Bundesbank repeatedly stressed several points in its detailed response to the CMU proposals, unveiled on September 30 by the commission. In several markets, the Bundesbank warned there was a danger that CMU might place an excessive regulatory burden on participants.
