Ukraine caps cash use in bid to boost e-payments

national-bank-of-ukraine

The use of cash to make payments in Ukraine has been restricted after the National Bank of Ukraine imposed limits on the maximum value of cash payments.

Following a public consultation in March and April, the central bank capped payments at 10,000 hryvnia ($1,230) for transactions between two businesses and 150,000 hryvnia ($18,400) between a business and an individual. The limits apply within one business day, although transactions can be settled with an unlimited number of counterparts.
