Senate backs Bernanke for second term

Ben Bernanke will serve another four years at the helm of the Federal Reserve.

Senators on Thursday voted 70 to 30 in favour of Bernanke, nine days after his  confirmation was thrown into doubt following the Democrats' loss of Edward Kennedy's Massachusetts Senate seat.
