Kuwait on standby to inject funds - reports

The Central Bank of Kuwait has said it is ready to pump funds into the country's banking system, local media reported Tuesday.

Several newspapers ran stories saying that the central bank had said it "would not hesitate to undertake the appropriate measures...including the readiness of the central bank to provide any local banks with the necessary liquidity."

If the central bank does decide to inject funds, it will be the second in the Middle East to do so.
