Russia's gold and for ex reserves continue to rise

Russia's central bank has announced increased reserves of 0.8% for gold and foreign exchange. This represents a new record.

Russia's gold and foreign exchange reserves on 21 February through 28 February 2003 grew by 400m dollars (about 0.8 per cent) from 52.7bn dollars to 53.1bn dollars, the Central Bank's public relations department said.

This is a new record-high since the Central Bank began disclosing gold and foreign exchange reserve statistics on a regular basis.
