Poll shows BoK employees favour Lee Seong-tae

Nearly half of the Bank of Korea's staff believe the BoK's vice head Lee Seong-tae is the best candidate for its next governor, a poll reported by Asia Pulse said.

According to the survey conducted by the Bank of Korea (BOK) union, 45.6 per cent of the 1,178 employees at the bank consider the 61-year-old to be the best candidate to replace the outgoing head Park Seung.

Park, who took over the governorship in 2002, is expected to leave office on 31 March but his successor has not been named yet.
