Clarity in central bank communications remains strong: Netherlands Bank paper

A Netherlands Bank paper published on January 5 says that while the global financial crisis has generally been associated with less clarity in central bank communications, there is little evidence that central banks had greater difficulty in explaining their policies.

The paper's authors, Aleš Bulír, Martin Cihák and David-Jan Jansen, use readability statistics and content analysis to study the clarity of communication on the inflation outlook by seven central banks between 1997 and 2010. They
