Sanusi unveils $1.4bn lending scheme for Nigeria's small businesses

The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has announced the launch of a 220 billion naira ($1.4 billion) scheme to support lending to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.

Speaking at a conference in Abuja on Strategies for Sustainable MSME Financing, which started yesterday and concludes today, Sanusi said the fund would aim to "enhance access to finance" for MSMEs by providing wholesale financing windows for participating financial
