Weidmann hits out at 'austerity backlash'
Bundesbank president Jens Weidmann today told a conference audience in Paris that "fiscal consolidation is crucially important to keep inflation expectations anchored".
Delivering the policy lecture on the second day of the fourth Banque de France-Deutsche Bundesbank Macroeconomics and Finance Conference, Weidmann said that in his view, "in a nutshell: I see no conflict between consolidation and growth".
