Ireland releases coins in memory of former finance minister

The Central Bank of Ireland today (August 15) launched two collector coins commemorating the 90th anniversary of the death of Michael Collins, who was finance minister of the country between 1919 and 1922, as well as chairman of the provisional government of the country following the Anglo-Irish Treaty negotiations that saw Ireland declared an independent state.

A €20 gold proof coin and a €10 silver proof coin have both been issued and are available individually and as a set. The coins were
