Central Bank of Barbados governor praises government’s fiscal strategy

The governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, DeLisle Worrell, has praised economic policy-making in Barbados, saying the government had maintained an appropriate foreign exchange buffer to sustain spending on imports and allow a response to shocks.

"The current economic strategy is appropriate to Barbados' economic realities, and respects the limitations of small size," Worrell wrote in a paper published on August 9. He emphasised that the government's fiscal strategy had maintained sufficient
