Bank resolutions averaged 1.8 cases in last decade – central banks

Lower-middle income countries report higher mean number of resolutions

The jurisdictions of central banks participating in the Financial Stability Benchmarks 2023 resolved a mean of 1.8 banks globally over the past 10 years.

Twenty-seven central banks answered a question on how many banks the authorities in their countries had placed into resolution. Authorities in 12 countries resolved no banks at all over the past decade. In another eight countries, the authorities resolved only one bank.
