Although very interested in central banks, I have never actually worked for one, and was pleasantly surprised to be invited to review this fascinating short book. It is an excellent, brief and crisp account of the main relevant issues. Seasoned central bankers and monetary economists, however familiar with the material, will find something new and stimulating, whether they always agree
