Dudley endures grilling on Goldman tapes

William Dudley, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, faced hostile questioning from a US Senate committee today (November 21) over fears the Fed may have been "captured" by the banking sector, particularly in relation to the ‘Goldman tapes'.

Dudley was grilled on whether the NY Fed had discovered evidence of illegal activity, or activity that threatened financial stability, and failed to take appropriate action.

The tapes were released by a former NY Fed employee, and relate to act
