UK police seize more than £4 million in counterfeit coins
The Metropolitan Police Service on May 24 announced detectives had recovered a record £4.1 million ($6.4 million) in counterfeit coins following what they called a "proactive" operation in the UK.
The money was seized on May 23 from three properties, believed to be storage locations in Enfield, Hertfordshire and Essex, as well as from two vehicles in the Essex area. An estimated £4 million worth of blank coins were discovered in a 40-foot freight container and £107,000 in finished counterfeit
