EU considers deeper sanctions against Syrian central bank
Discussions are under way at the European Union (EU) to introduce further sanctions on the Central Bank of Syria, after it previously stopped an order for banknotes and coins to Damascus.
On September 23, the EU banned the delivery of Syrian-denominated banknotes and coinage produced in the EU to the Syrian Central Bank. Confirmed reports on Thursday suggested that the EU was planning to introduce additional sanctions at the EU foreign affairs committee meeting on Monday.
