ECB winds up euro-franc swap line

The European Central Bank (ECB) said on Monday that it would close its one-week euro-Swiss franc swap lines, an emergency measure it introduced in the financial crisis to ease liquidity shortages, at the end of January.

"This decision was made against the background of declining demand and improving conditions in the funding markets," the central bank said in a statement announcing the decision.

The Swiss National Bank (SNB), the National Bank of Poland and the National Bank of Hungary said
