Hungary nat bank to amend reserve regulations

HUNGARY - The monetary council of the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) decided on Monday to amend the mandatory reserve regime, effective 1 February 2002, the Bank said in a statement.

The decision will make banks' forint liabilities abroad with a remaining tenor of above 2 years, and privately placed bank securities with a tenor of more than 2 years, exempt from the reserve obligations from that date.

The move is in line with a series of National Bank measures to adjust Hungarian regulations
