Iran appoints Bahmani as governor

Mahmoud Bahmani, the generally secretary of the Central Bank of Iran, is to take the helm after the sacking of Tahmasb Mazaheri, local media has reported.

The Iranian Students' News Agency reported the appointment, carrying the official appointment letter sent from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's president, to Bahmani. A spokesman for the central bank confirmed the appointment to Central Bank News.
