Central bank to exchange Irish money indefinitely

The central bank of Ireland has said that it will continue to exchange Irish banknotes and coins into euros over the coming years.

In a statement, the bank said that it has seen a large increase in the numbers of people availing of this exchange service in recent days and weeks. The bank said that some of those visiting believe the exchange service is due to cease on 31 December.
