Brief History On November 15, 1993, the National Bank of Kazakhstan became the central bank of the country, accountable to the President of the Republic. The primary goal of the National Bank is the maintenance of price stability. The bank is also entrusted to: develop and implement the state’s monetary policy; support the functioning of payment systems; implement foreign exchange regulation and foreign exchange control; assist in the maintenance of financial system stability; and
