Central Bank of Hungary
MNB was established in April 1924 as a central bank and bank of issue. After the Forint, was introduced on August 1, 1946 the Hungarian banking system was soon rapidly restructured: commercial banks and saving banks were liquidated and the banking system was reduced to a single-tier system. Starting from the second half of 1948, the National Bank of Hungary also conducted commercial banking activities, in addition to its responsibilities as the central bank. On January 1, 1987
