Czech National Bank
The Czech National Bank (CNB) is the central bank of the Czech Republic. It was established on 1 January 1993. In its role as a central bank the CNB is the successor to the National Bank of Czechoslovakia (founded in 1926) and the State Bank of Czechoslovakia (founded in 1950). The CNB’s position and role are stipulated by Act No. 6/1993, on the CNB. In 2004 the CNB became a member of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB).
