People: Malta finds replacement for Mifsud; DNB appoints new board member

Malta: The Central Bank of Malta has appointed Alexander Demarco and Oliver Bonello to serve as deputy governors for monetary policy and financial stability, respectively.

Demarco joined the bank in 1984 and has spent much of his career working as a senior economist for the bank’s economics research department. During this time, he helped construct the central bank’s first econometric model and was responsible for the institution’s macroeconomic projections.
