People: Pakistan and Uzbekistan appoint deputies; Bangladesh Bank names new chief economist

Pakistan: Jameel Ahmad has been promoted to the role of deputy governor at the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), effective from April 11.

He replaces Saeed Ahmad, who resigned from the central bank in order to take up the role of chief executive of government-owned National Bank of Pakistan in March.

Having served 26 years in the central banking community, Ahmad will leave his role as executive director for supervision and financial stability at the SBP. In his new role, he will be responsible for
