Israeli PM considers former Argentine head as possible governor

Israel’s prime minister and finance minister are considering a former Argentine central bank governor as the next head of the Bank of Israel, according to local reporters.

The Reuters news agency reported on January 13 that former Argentine central bank governor Mario Blejer was due to meet Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu and finance minister Moshe Kahlon on that day. Israeli newspaper Haaretz confirmed on August 14 that Blejer had met both officials.
