Sri Lankan governor stresses integrity in first speech

Coomaraswamy suggests primary responsibility is upholding reputation and credibility

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka's culture should be built on integrity, technical excellence and professionalism, according to its new governor, Indrajit Coomaraswamy.

In his inaugural speech, delivered as he took office on July 4, the governor suggested his primary responsibility was to "uphold" the central bank's reputation and credibility.
