Mexican deputy calls for ‘proper consideration’ of peers

Calafell stresses need for improved policy communication

Advanced economies should take "proper consideration" of their emerging market counterparts when implementing monetary policy, a Bank of Mexico deputy governor has said.

Speaking at the IIF Latin American Economic Forum, Javier Guzmán Calafell noted there is scope for better co-operation in the current economic environment, considering the "international repercussions" of some decisions.
