Israel must close productivity gap, Flug says
Bank of Israel governor calls on government to close gap with advanced economies
Israel is failing to close the gap between its productivity and that of advanced economies, Bank of Israel governor Karnit Flug said on April 3.
Presenting the central bank's annual report, Flug said the productivity gap was particularly large in those industries not exposed to international competition. Closing the gap with the OECD average could boost living standards by around a third, she said.
