Kaplan urges careful consideration of volatility

Robert Kaplan warns of potential for further market volatility as normalisation continues

As the Fed continues with its normalisation process, further bouts of volatility could emerge in the financial markets, according to the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

"The challenge for policymakers is to appropriately consider these movements without over-reading or misinterpreting them in assessing underlying economic conditions," he said in Dallas on January 11.

Kaplan said he voted for and supported the interest rate hike in December 2015, expressing if the Fed had delayed
