Bank of Mauritius governor laments ‘unethical’ behaviour of some external auditors
Rameswurlall Basant Roi says the central bank noticed moral compasses ‘erratically spinning’
External auditors in Mauritius have shown signs of "unethical behaviour" and rivalry that violate "professional decency", the governor of the Bank of Mauritius said on November 27.
Speaking at the Bank of Mauritius Annual Dinner, Rameswurlall Basant Roi decided to raise his concerns in public, rather than through "private room conversations".
"When you make errors, make sure they are errors of judgement, not errors of principle," he said.
