Haldane charts impact of automation on UK economy
The Bank of England's chief economist has warned the UK could see as many as 15 million people replaced by robots in the labour market – though technology will also create new opportunities as well.
Speaking at the Trades Union Congress in London, Andy Haldane outlined the effects the rise in automation would have on the labour market: "Technology is changing the quantum and nature of work, displacing some jobs while creating others."
