Barbadian governor in rallying cry on productivity

Sees lack of worker engagement as a key challenge

Central Bank of Barbados governor DeLisle Worrell called on each and every worker in the country to "contribute more" to the quest for higher labour productivity, something he believes is "at the heart" of the country's development strategy.

Speaking on February 23, during the National Productivity Council's Annual Week of Excellence, Worrell lamented that Barbados has not made the kind of "commensurate progress" necessary to improve the country's global competitiveness.
