Sabine Lautenschläger argues there are ‘more questions than answers’

There are too many questions surrounding the impact of government bond purchases for it to be a worthwhile policy for the European Central Bank (ECB) to pursue "at this current time", according to executive board member Sabine Lautenschläger.

Speaking at a conference on innovation in Berlin on November 29, Lautenschläger said buying government bonds was an "obvious" policy choice in some countries, but warned they could be the "last resort at best" for the eurozone.

She argued there were a host
