Malaysian deputy says Islamic banking has inclusion role to play

Islamic finance has a part to play in Malaysia's efforts to boost financial inclusion, according to Muhammad bin Ibrahim, a deputy governor of the Bank Negara Malaysia.

In remarks delivered to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation member countries, Ibrahim highlighted particular features of the Islamic banking model that make it particularly well-placed to support financial inclusion.
