Danièle Nouy: Fed facing similar data challenges as ECB

Nouy highlights similarity of ideas on both sides of the Atlantic

The Federal Reserve is "facing similar challenges" with regard to statistics as the Eurosystem is in the creation of a banking union, according to Danièle Nouy, chair of the European Central Bank (ECB) supervisory board.

Yesterday the ECB hosted a conference on statistics, where the Federal Reserve Board's chief data officer, Micheline Casey, delivered a presentation on the ‘Emerging opportunities and challenges with central bank data'.

Nouy said it was "very valuable" to learn from the Fed, as
