Irish central bank will ‘change structurally’ before SSM

Deputy governor Cyril Roux reveals new model for on-site supervision

The Central Bank of Ireland will make "organisational changes" before the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) becomes operational on November 4, its deputy governor for financial regulation, Cyril Roux, said today.

Roux told an audience at today's Banking Union conference, in Dublin, that the Central Bank of Ireland would need to "change structurally" to accommodate the SSM and its functions.

He emphasised the importance of creating "a very clear distinction" between its on-site and off-site
