Malaysia’s Ibrahim tells Asian banks to be more data-savvy

Banks in Asia are yet to "fully realise" the gains that could be made from adopting new technology, according to Muhammad bin Ibrahim, a deputy governor at the Bank Negara Malaysia.

Delivering the opening remarks at a banking conference in Kuala Lumpur, Ibrahim said forces are "reshaping" the banking industry across the region, and this "requires a fundamental change in mindset" among bankers. He identified Asia's rapid growth, the increase in Islamic banking and new global banking regulations
