Norway's Olsen discusses factors that shape interest rate policy

The impact of interest rate policy on the wider economy must be considered alongside the objective of maintaining inflation close to target, governor of the Norges bank Øystein Olsen said in a speech at the European Banking and Financial Forum in Prague on March 27.

Recounting his own country's experience, Olsen said that when setting rates, Norges Bank does not exclusively assign weight to ensuring inflation is on target, but also considers the impact on output and employment in the wider
