BoE's Fisher considers zero corridor monetary operation

Paul Fisher, the executive director of markets at the Bank of England, on Wednesday said the central bank was considering alternative monetary frameworks to implement interest rate decisions.

At an event at the University of Manchester, Fisher said that in normal times, the Bank employed a reserves averaging system as part of its sterling monetary framework to implement interest rate decisions each month, with commercial banks remunerated at Bank rate if they hit a self-determined target level
