Economics must be more practical: Barbados’s Worrell

DeLisle Worrell, the governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, on January 27, 2011 called for a profound change in the economic literature towards the use of what he called "practical economics".

At an event in Barbados, Worrell said he shared the views of Eric Beinhocker, the author of the Origin of Wealth, who said the field of economics was going through a major shift that would have "substantial effects on our lives and the lives of generations to come".
