Macroprudential policy – a literature review
A plethora of policy speeches, research papers and conferences of late have covered macroprudential regulation.
In this paper, published by the Netherlands Bank in December, the authors, Gabriele Galati and Richhild Moesner provide an overview of the recent literature and debate on the topic.
The paper notes that the debate is focusing in particular on macroprudential tools and their usage, their relationship with monetary policy, their implementation and their effectiveness.
