Some Fed officials concerned April hike would ‘signal a sense of urgency’

Minutes from the latest US Federal Reserve Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting reveal some Fed officials are concerned an interest rate hike in April would "signal a sense of urgency they did not think appropriate".

On March 15 and 16, the FOMC kept its federal funds rate target at 0.25–0.5%. During that meeting, participants "expressed a range of views" about the likelihood that incoming information would make an adjustment appropriate at their next meeting, on April 26–27.
