Fed beige book points to areas of optimism

Most districts report economic activity as expanding

The Federal Reserve's latest Beige Book offered a relatively upbeat outlook for the economy, with five Federal Reserve districts reporting their contacts were "optimistic about future growth".

Generally activity expanded at either a "modest" or "moderate" pace across the United States in May and June, according to the book, published on July 15. This is largely in line with the conditions outlined in the previous book.

The book also noted "Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Kansas City and Dallas
