Growth slowdown offset by lending growth and consumer sentiment

The outlook for Australian monetary policy is complex, with various signs of strength offset by weaknesses at home and abroad, the minutes of the Reserve Bank of Australia's latest monetary policy meeting show.

Growth in Australia was "below-trend", while many of Australia's trading partners, notably China, had shown signs of weakness, although a broad package of policy measures unveiled by Chinese officials would go some way to offsetting this, according to the minutes.
