Brazil registers primary deficit for third consecutive month
Public sector primary deficit reaches 4.7 billion real ($2.1 billion) in July
The Brazilian public sector registered a primary deficit in July, the third month in a row, according to data released by the Central Bank of Brazil on Friday. Central, state and municipal government agencies recorded a primary deficit of 4.7 billion reais ($2.10 billion), an increase on the previous month.
With July's results, this year's accumulated primary result is a surplus of 24.7 billion reais, some way off the government's annual fiscal target of 99 billion reais. In the same month in
