Eurozone banks ease credit standards for first time since crisis hit in 2007

European Central Bank publishes latest bank lending survey

Eurozone banks made it easier for companies to borrow money in the second quarter of 2014 – the first time they have done so since the start of the financial crisis.

According to the latest European Central Bank (ECB) bank lending survey, published today, the number of banks easing credit standards surpassed the number of banks tightening them for the first time since 2007.

Specifically, the survey found, credit standards on loans to enterprises were eased (in net terms) in France and Italy
